I have been waiting for the issues to clear up with the TSU3000 before purchasing it, but with the new software release they seem worse than ever.

While I hadn't wanted to spend this much money, is the TSU6000 ProntoPro significantly more reliable than the 3000? I currently have a TSU2000 with the usual number of glitches, but it's acceptable. I would want the 6000 to have at least the reliability level of the TSU2000.

Any comments are appreciated.

Deane,

I don't think that the 6000 has any significant "bugs", and has "at least the reliability level of the TSU2000". But then again, I'm not sure what you mean by the "usual" glitches in a 2000.

My Marantz 9200 still has a firmware bug involving jumps to the macro side - the workaround is easy however. The 6000 doesn't have this problem.

Perhaps "the usual glitches" is a bit overstated. The major issue is occassional crashing and rebooting. It usually occurs when I am making projector adjustments and zapping through the menu commands fairly rapidly. Most everything else seems fine.

every time I heard of a 2000 crashing it was in relation to a particular troubling IR code One of them might be dirty and causing problems to your 2000
