Daniel,
I quit selling chargers for the 1000 for at least a year because of the free service calls. I just remembered that a second customer's 1000 overheated and we took the charger back...never did get them another one. They did not want to risk a fire.

I have not seen any problems with the chargers since I started installing them again about two years ago. My clients are NOT technoids, so whatever is happening to cause the problem, it is not due to "pilot error."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

this is #3, one was a store demo. rep put us in touch with Phillips. they will replace w/3000 or repair AND modify. will update on mod upon arrival. new problem...for previous client loaded his 2K ccf w/peng into 3K. 90% of pcf worked but soft cursor pad did not..not sure if 3K had firmware update.. any ideas?

Mine recently did the same thing. Only here is where my story is worse, I got the refurbished unit, turned it on and to my surprise half the screen didn't work. Called them up, complained - only thing they could do was send me another one. Just got it yesterday and the remote fails calibration... Guess I will be on the phone again with these people... This time I will not be so nice......

You must calibrate with a fine point like a pencil. Don't use your finger.

Well I finally got what I wanted as my 3000 showed up with a charging cradle last night. Thanks to everyone who did not rip me for my rant. I do it seldom but was really ticked off.

The 3000 is different than the 2000 and I do not need to tell you that there are problems. I knew this going in but it will take awhile to get used to the different form factor. The 3000 just does not feel as solid as the 2000.

In my case I am just happy to have the different connection to the cradle.

Now if I could only get my old ccf to import without crashing PENG ;)

Thanks for the support,

Tony
