This is probably more of a question of not fully grasping how my inputs work but here it goes (insert joke here). I have a Sony KP43T70 TV with a Sony SVR2000 Tivo and a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box. I split the cable line in,one to the digital box and one directly to the tv in case there is a problem with digtial. I have an ANT button on my Sony tv that switches between ANT(which is the direct cable feed) and AUX(which is the digital cable feed). My Tivo runs on Video1. Sometimes I watch TV without using Tivo so I am trying to create a macro for my cable that turns on the tv and the digital box and goes to AUX to take Tivo out of the loop. But my problem is that the first time I use it it puts the TV on AUX, the next time it puts it on ANT since it is a shared button. I went through the discreet codes and have one set specifically for Video 1, 2 and 3 and I thought that tuner would work to get me on AUX but it didn't. Am I trying to do something that won't work or am I just missing something? Thanks for the help guys.

Hey Star50fiveoh,
Why a past life? Couldn't a guy make an honest living that way in today's society?

As for the name, I was tired of joining things over the net and never being able to find a name that wasn't used. So I thought this was obscure enough and I have never had a problem with a duplicate name since. You will never see DrChickenballs2607, I promise. Plus it is usually a good converstation stater and grabs attention everywhere I go.

I was hoping for more along the lines of...

"It all started on a dark & stormy night in 1968. I was on a daring midnight rescue attempt in Nam, stepped on a landmine and vaporized both testicles.

I was captured and taken deep into enemy territory. I escaped and was hidden by a beautiful vietnamese girl who nursed me back to health, including having her elderly physician uncle transplant a primo pair of chicken balls on me to allow us to make kinky oriental sex.

Eventually, her uncle passed on all his medical knowledge, conferring the title of Doctor on me.

That is why I'm now known as "Doctor Chickenballs".

See how easy that was?

I really really hate to go back to the subject, but

Impaqt,
does the TUNER command always go to ANT? So that the TV/AUX button will always go to AUX? My recollection is that a TUNER command, which I have usually seen emulated by hitting channel up or down when on any other input, simply takes you to the last antenna input that was chosen.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie,

You're right, the tuner command always goes back to input that was previously viewed. The Aux button does the same. My area is one of the few that still runs A and B sides and this has made it a mess. If anyone has a workaround I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks.

Did you try Ernie's channel up/down suggestion? I.e. the TV's channel up/down command not the cable boxes. If this works, and since you probably need the TV on a specific channel (like 4?) you would need to do a macro like Channel up (to get to the tuner input), Channel down (to get back to Channel 4), and then the input command as often as required to get where you're going. Messy, but it might be effective.

Jim,

That wouldn't work in my situation because I dont' use a cable box. I need something discrete. Thanks anyways.
