Thanks for your first ideas. But: At first I'm looking for the discrete cosed for a SONY AV receiver, not a TV!!! And I'm looking for two (2) discrete codes to switch Mute ON and OFF. I looked to the files here, but I didn't found anything... Still waiting for your help!

Thanks again

Olaf

I'm very confused.... Your waiting for >my< help? or just help in general?

As far as I know, Sony receivers do not have aeparate Mute on and Mute off commands available through IR. RS-232 (If its an ES model) may be your only option. Does your receiver come out of Mute when you ramp the volume? There may be a workaround.
