Hey Guys,
I'm sure you get asked this all the time and I appologize ahead of time. I am trying to figure out how to input discrete codes into the pronto TSU2000. The sad thing is I'VE DONE IT BEFORE!!! I can't remember how I did it. I know you have to use pronto edit, but I can't seem to figure out what I need to do after I click on the button's "properties" option. Please help! Thanks

Copy the ir code from wherever you got it from.

Open the buttons properties, as you stated.

Click on "Set IR"

Click on "View Ir Code" in the new window.

Then on the attached pull down window. Just "paste" the ir code that you just copied.

Click on the "oks"

Thanks for the heads up. I knew that was the way to do it. I guess my problem isn't that I don't know how, it's that it won't let me. Once I click on "View IR Code" it brings up the code and lets me view it, but it won't let me replace it! I'm not sure why, but it has a grey background and shows the code that's there, but will not allow me to enter text of any kind. Has anybody else run into this sort of thing?

Not to sure why not.

But first, why is there an ir code there in the first place?

Since your clicked on "set ir" it brings up a "blank" ir code so that you can either learn, or paste the ir code in the box.

I just checked it with my prontoedit 4.0.5, which is the pe that you should be using. And in both default and developer mode it showed me the ir code. With no gray back ground as you discribed. I was able to cut and paste everything in the "view ir" box.

If you must replace an ir code. Right click in the view box, click on select all. Right click again to click on paste. This will replace the ir code that you just highlighted.

Ah ha!!! I think you just solved my problem. I just remembered I had to reformat my harddrive awhile back and when I loaded everything back onto my computer I got rid of my more recent version of prontoedit. The addition I have is 2.0 and I believe that is the problem. Thanks again rob, I'll have to download the more recent version.

While your at it. Download ProntoINI workshop. This can give you added features. Such as developer mode.

Both PE 4.0.5 and Workshop are in the file section of this web site.
