Posted this on the Custom board with no responses yet so I thought I'd try here since proto folks are so handy....

My Wife dropped my Crestron ST-1550C which is a 6.4" color touchscreen controller. The LCD itself seems fine, but the touch sensetive overlay (Membrane) Cracked and now does not work. I;m looking for a supplier for a new overlay. I emailed EarthLCD with no response yet, looking for other suppliers or leads.

Thanks

I took the unit apart at it seems to be attached with double stick foam/tape. There is a 4 conductor ribbon cable comming off of it to a board.

Why don't you ask about it from Crestron techsupport at www.crestron.com ? The international ones are very helpfull!

Also, the famous place is [Link: groups.yahoo.com]

Pronto's screen differs from Crestron Smart Touch series panels. There are a lot of touch screen tapes for monitors, but I'm afraid, they are too large (>5.6") to be used with ST-1550(C).

I have another cheap solution: to use TSU3000/RU950/TSU6000/RU970/RC5200/RC9200 instead of ST-1550C. I can send you a CCF with Crestron RF joins to replace ST-1550C RF functionality via these Prontos, if you want. The only discomfort is loosing "virtual feedbacks" ability, but weight loose too!

I have several Crestron IR files for use with Prontos, RTI's and MX-700's.. These (That I have) all require the use a Crestron IR Gateway (Which I dont have) If you have a way around this, I would love to see it. My E2 is working great, so I'm not overyly concerned about the 1550c right now... This is why I havent just bitten the bullet and paid the pony.....

I have send a Crestron RF CCF to e-mail from your profile. I hope, it can help you to control the Crestron system via RF gateway from Pronto...

Are you saying the Prontos can communicate directly with the Crestron RF gateway?

I would like a copy of that file as well, this could be interesting if it works like you say. I wonder what the boys in Jersey have to say about this.

Hmm... That RF modulation and error checking theme is too old to be "intellectual property", I think - older than RC5 (and conceptually older than New Jersey - from the age of Fibonacci :). Nevertheless, I dont want publish it!
