Anyone check out this ProntoPro CCF in the files section? That is one cool, simulated joystick.

Yes, I did see that one this morning Andrea. Very cool.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I think I will sometime soon. Just to see what makes it tick!

By the way, got any spare drugs? LOL. I have so much programming to do, that drugs.... nevermind, that'll only make things worse. LOL

Good luck with the newborn (when he/she is born).

I have looked at André's CCF & it is brilliant. Especially the joystick although it is a shame that it does not move 4 ways. Definately one of the best that I have seen.

You know what the beever would say, not enough variety of colors.

Someone needs to do a Crayola CCF with ALL 256 colors.

What a circus that would be! LOL

thanks for the compliments, I'm blushing right now...
btw, the joystick does move in all 4 directions, but only if being repeatedly pressed in a direction. A lame trick, I know, but I couldn't find another way because of the "hit areas" overlapping.
And pleeeease: do not tell beever, I don't know, if I could handle his criticism as well as Dale did. ;-)

Andre,

The real problem might be that he likes it. I think it's very cool by the way.

Jim,
why should he? I used standard symbols, the panels are either red or blue and worst of all: if you guys like it, he'll certainly hate it. ;-)

André:

My only complaint about your CCF is that it makes me look bad in comparison. ;)

Excellent, excellent work!

Just a suggestion on the joystick movement: if you want the image to remain in its selected state for a while, try adding a delay at the start of the action list. Yeah, the pause might get annoying, but you'd get your cool animation.

Again, bravo! I couldn't have done better myself. And I mean that in the most absolute and literal sense!

Dale,
thank you for the tip, that should do the trick. DVD menu items are slow in changing, anyway, so the delay shouldn't be too annoying.
Hope this doesn't sound too cheesy, but I am truly honoured that all the guys (and, Andrea, ladies of course) whose work I always admired, like it. This means a lot to me. Thank you all.
Damn, I blew it... it does sound cheesy ;-)

Andre,

WOW!!! The screenshot that Andrea included in her 1st post was impressive but not prepare me for how cool your CCF is.

Let me say it again - WOW!!! I love the potato - the reflection off the flooring, the 3d look throughout - Super job!!

One small nitpick (if I may) I got a little confused -- From the Home Page, I picked the couch and then chose the TV and then the DVD and nothing happened except the IR beam and the white light coming down on my potato-y head. Why did you choose to have the user hit the chosen device twice instead of a delay (for the very cool graphic) and then jump to the device?

That color pronto is starting to look more and more like a need instead of a want (I use a 2000 and a 1000).

Sorry folks but I need to say it again -- WOW!!!!
