I currently have a Windows 7 X64 MCE PC running on my newly installed Dish Network VIP22k stb. I can not get the IR Blaster for the life of me to change channels. I was wondering if anyone has had any success with this or if there is some specialty hardware I need to purchase...
This stb has some elaborate remote control that allows it to control multiple rooms from one stb - each room requires its own remote but to configure the remote it requires you to press and hold zero to enter the setup mode and I have a funny feeling this is screwing things up. As MCE requires you to press and hold the keys to learn the remote. However none or the numbers change correctly - mce send the signal, the ir blaster blinks, then the stb puts the remote control trouble shooting wizard up on the screen. If I change channels with 2 remotes, 1st mce and then the dish all is fine, but there has to be a better way. Anyone have any ideas??? Thank you!
