He guys,
you won't believe what just happened. I toke a wild shot and tried turning my tv of power, leaving it powerless for half an hour and than putting it on, trying if the kameleon would work.
So, I tilted my tv forward, removed the powercord on the backside, waited...and tilted again to plug back in. I tried the code 0195, but nothing. So I use the old boring one and zapped. Guess what?! My tube is all purple, and nothing I do will get the colours back to normal. So maybe my golden oldie is not so golden anymore.....talking of coinsedences:) Really, I thing my Grundig of 11! years old has now officially gone into a coma. It is now really time to get ourselves a new tv:( But now we can buy one that responds perfectly with the kameleon remote! :). Any of you good suggestions? :0)
Really, I still can't believe this has happened today, after all the work and time that has went into getting it to work.
I have only one more thing to say to you, the most important one of this discussion so far: THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@John By all means. Go ahead and create a new folder just for the wav files and load as many of them as you like. @Brigit Keep in mind that the URC-9960 is designed for the US market, so it's quite possible that you will have a hard time finding a German TV that will work with it. So it's probably a good idea to ask your husband to check out JP1. It's really quite easy once you figure it out. @Mr_E Drop me an email at rob1 (at) rockabilly (dot) net, I'd like to chat. Brigit & compurat: The info that the URC-3330 does operate the TV rules in my opinion out that you have one of these faulty Grundig TP 663 remotes. However it's rather surprising that the URC-9960 doesn't operate the Grundig. I'm not familiar with the American OFAs but it can't hurt to check this:
- Is 0195 downloaded in the 9960 and does the remote accept this setup code?
- Are you using new, non-rechargeble 1.5 Volt batteries?
- Erase all leardned functions
Now the problem with the Grundig TV itself: I always thought that even after disconecting the powercable, a TV should still remember his settings, but can it be possible that the Grundig simply has forgotten the channelsettings?
If there aren't tuned any channels, most TVs show a blue screen and if the color-settings of this not quite so young TV are a bit weird (let's say to much red), I can imagine it shows you a purple instead of a blue screen when the channelsettings have been erased.
BTW I dislike these Grundig TP 623 and TP 663 remotes because of there altering problems, but not the Grundig TVs itself, older A-brand TVs like Grundig, Sony, Philips, Telefunken, Blaupunkt are normaly die-hard TVs who often still work perfectly after 20 years.
@Rob: you 've got mail

- Is 0195 downloaded in the 9960 and does the remote accept this setup code? I thought it was clear above that 0195 had not been downloaded so the 9960 doesn't accept the setup code (but I assume beginners can't easily distinguish a setup code not being accepted from not working). I was still hoping for your comment on getting such .wav files (9960 upgrades for European devices) by internet vs. phone. At this point, I expect that tilting the TV has somehow broken a wire or twisted a connector so that the green portion of the signal is no longer getting through. Inept as I am at mechanical things, if it were mine I'd open it up and see if the disconnection was obvious. But since there are dangerous high voltages in there even when unplugged I wouldn't reccomend that to someone less familiar with the inside of an old TV. Now the problem with the Grundig TV itself: I always thought that even whit a disconected powercable TV should still remember there setting, but can it be possible that the Grundig has forgotten the channelsettings?
If there aren't tuned any channels qou often get a blue screen, and if the color-settings of this not quite so young TV are a bit weird (let's say to much red), I can imaging it shows you a purple instead of a blue screen. That's an interesting theory. It wasn't clear to me whether the described symptom was a blank purple screen as you are guessing or a halfway correct image in which everything is colored purple.

Hello everyone.
I've bought one RCU-810 (Radio Shark) from MCM Electronics website. Now i'm trying to use it for an old GRUNDIG TV receiver ref : T70-543 Euro Unfortunatly, the RCU-810 has no native settings for GRUNDIG TV. The original remote has been lost, so like Brigit, i can't use the IR Learning mode. Thus, the RCU-810 can't store many and huge learned signals and it seems it learns the whole protocol for each key (witch I think is a pure waste of those precious bytes).
My RCU-810 has already been patched for JP-1. I have built the cable and already could download my current settings with IR 5.12 (Remote Control Programmer) I saw in another post that most GRUNDIG TV use BLAUPUNKT protocol, device 0.
I also have installed JRE and RemoteMaster (RM) 1.04, configured for the RCU810 in the favorite remotes. Finally, I saw that RemoteMaster includes the BLAUPUNKT protocol. But now i'm a bit lost. How do I create a file with RM that contains my new device config for my GRUNDIG TV ? And then, How do i use it with IR ?
I didn't find yet any howto or tutorial that i'm able to understand. So, any step by step help (i'm a newbie with JP-1) would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance, and please, forgive my awful school english.

That's the sort of question much better asked in the JP1 forum than here [Link: hifi-remote.com]To make an upgrade you normally need to find the OBC numbers for all the functions. Knowing the Protocol (Blaupunkt) and device (0) isn't enough. Probably you can skip discovering those OBC numbers (and most of the rest of the work) by finding an upgrade someone else already built. RM can import most KM upgrades. It probably can import the Blaupunct one from the JP1 TV folder and maybe the Grundig one. I think both those upgrades are Blaupunct protocol, device 0, but I'm not sure. Try them: [Link: groups.yahoo.com]

Hiya!
I hate to bring this old thread back to life, but I'm in desperate need for a certain TV code.
Remote: URC-3330 TV: Grundig Leemaxx MF 55-9101/8
The remote used to work properly until about two months ago. From then on it became more and more unreliable and the TV sometimes didn't respond. By now the TV doesn't respond at all anymore, though the remote still works properly with the VHS.
Since I kind of "drowned" the remote (I managed to drop it into a glass of water - don't ask :p ) my wife suggested it may have lost its programming for the TV. No idea if that is even possible, but still worth a try.
Any kind of help is highly appreciated. Thanks! :-)

T should, erhaps have started a new thread called "Grundig SP70-660", but I understand tha Mr_E has experience with Grundig, so I "invaded" here. I have a Grundig SP70-660 with a remote control that works, but only partly. The instruction book indicates that to do the operation that is required, I must use an "IR DATA-PROGRAMMERS" This is a different type of controller for which I have no knowledge. I know nothing about the codes it sends to the TV nor do I know what the responses the TV has to these codes. Also, a special code must be entered into the Menu to activate the PROGRAMER HP function. This code then activates the "IR DATA-PROGRAMMERS"
If anyone on the list can help me, kindly answer starting a new thread called:"Grundig SP70-660",
