what I've heard new C2 and C3 are IR/RF remotes will work with RF/IR blaster bases. Very good price points, will beat MX-880 value.

Your forgetting that there is more to a remote than the remote itself. The MX-880 you have to remember has the ability to communicate with a processor (capable of serial control and video/voltage sensing.). In addition it has the ability of variables which can really be useful for page flips and things like that. What I am trying to say is that a remote is only as powerful as the a) the program b) the programmer. The design and cool factor get old very quick.

It looks like the C2 and C3 will be operationg at 433Mhz and will have a processor to go with them.

the C2 is IR only.
the C3 is RF and has its own RF base, not compatible with the Nevo NC-50 and is not ZWave
it is not RS232 capable, but it can communicate directly with DirecTV Boxes via RF.

But hey, stranger things have happened, I guess...... a few reasons. 1 . they wont be available via consumer channel . you will still need a CI to get one of these in your home. 2. you can use your own macros with discrete commands and all , a big missing feature from the harmony remotes 3. its similar to the URC MX450 and MX810 - i actually sell a ton of MX450 for small systems. i actually never sell IR kits anymore due to the fact that the MX450 with MRF260 are so close in price to an IR kit, and now the C3 with RF base will be even closer in price to an IR kit . . 4. harmony = trouble. they are crap, fall apart very quickly, and the software is so limited its frustrating. lack of discretes really annoying

For every DIY'er that A.Knows what a universal remote is and B.Knows the difference between makes & models and C.Knows how to configure them himself, there are 1000 others who don't.

They will be on ebay and ever other online reseller within 30 days of their release.

Ok these remotes are total shit. I hate to say it - but because of this release I have lost all respect for Nevo.
I spent a lot of time with Nevo and installing their remotes on hopes that they would eventually expand their lineup.
They basically made a remote for accoustic research to be soldnin best buy - and rebranded it with a Nevo logo. It's mainly a best buy remote.
So why is this remote shit? You can't use two different rf bases when they are in range of eachother. You can't pair a remote with an rf base - they are not addressable. So the remte will receive any commands it gets from whatever remote is near it.
It's an insult to put the Nevo name on this remote.they say the next addition to Nevo will be 3.0 software in about a year and nothing else till then.
I officially am giving up on Nevo and any new products.
Looks like I'm leaning towards mx450 for our low end ( with mrf260) and crestron prodigy for our mid end.
Goodbye Nevo and thanks for the ride.

its a real shame cause i really loved the form factor/ design of their remotes, and the software was actually really good.

Hi,
That is a little narrow mined don't you think? They are not perfect by anymeans but they are not designed to compete with the Q50/S70 but more to compliment them.
Just sell more Q50's and S70 remotes.
NSP3 should not be a year away... Where did you here that?
Just my 2c worth. Not trying to piss anyone off.

the fact that i waited this long for a new product , and i was told i can use it as my low end remote on our projects was just wrong.
you cant use two of these in the same home.
they should not have the nevo name on it. bottom line.
it says on the package by custom installers only.
total bs. its in best buy under another name, and no CI would ever touch a remote that you cant use twice in one home. what happens when the client says i like it, lets get another one for my living room. o, sorry man . .one per home. we gotta get you a different brand remote or a Q50 for $800.
im talking about RF remotes only ofcourse, as i dont really care for IR kits . . .
im just insulted that they are branded as nevo and they expect us to sell and install them.
it shows very little respect for installers when they pull something like that.
