Is there a sensor on the Q50 ? when the unit goes into sleep mode (turns black on the screen) shaking it does not turn it on. I have to press a button. Is this normal? or is there a shake/tilt sensor which needs to be enabled?
Thanks.

There's no motion sensor. I know of a guy that tried to install one and it messed up his Q50. Go figure.

Yes...you wake it up with a key/touch screen press.
