Hello,

Have a unique issue I was hoping someone could help shed some light on. I have a Marantz RC3200 with the following specs:

Boot V2.34b
Sys V2.0.1
App 1.1.4.2
CF v1.0

I began creating some favorite channel macros this weekend using some of the cool Channel Logos I found in the files section. The problem I ran across is that I cannot get the number 3 & 5 keybad keys to work in the macros yet they work fine when using them straight from the RC3200 to change channels. I did some basic troubleshooting to see if it was only when these 2 numbers were the 1st ones in the channel number but they don't work regardless of which order they are in the channel number.

One more thing...I'm using a Hughes HD-E86 as my DirecTV receiver.

If anyone has seen this problem before or has any suggestions I would be appreciative. I'm planning on calling Marantz tomorrow but the only number I can find on their website is a number in New Jersey and I don't know if they provide direct technical support over the phone.

Thanks.

I have the same remote & configuration and had a similar problem with a few numbers. My problem was resolved by using the LEARN feature of the RC3200 and re-learning the number codes from the original remote control.

OK. I tried this tonight but now I'm faced with another problem. I put the RC3200 into LEARN mode and attempted to relearn the 3 & 5 keys from the Hughes E86 remote. I got the OK message on the RC3200 for each of the 2 keys that I attempted to relearn but when I go back into normal mode now the 3 & 5 keys on the RC3200 touchscreen don't work at all. I tried relearning several other buttons from the E86 remote and got the same results. I even tried putting new batteries in both remotes but with no luck. I pulled out my Sony RPTV and DVD Player remotes and tried relearning a couple of their buttons and it worked fine so it seems to just be an issue with the RC3200 trying to relearn any buttons from the Hughes E86 remote. Luckily I was able to download my custom NCF file back to the RC3200 to get my buttons back but I'm still stuck with the DSS 3 & 5 keys not working in macros which is truely frustrating.

I guess I'll need to contact Marantz or take the RC3200 remote back to the HT dealer where I purchased the SR8200. Any other ideas?

New Update:

I took my RC3200 into my local HT dealer and asked if I could try testing it with one of their setups with a Hughes E86 HD receiver. They agreed and after trying the macros I ran into the same problem with the 3 and 5 keys not working. They agreed to replace my RC3200 with a new one off the shelf. I took it home, downloaded my .ncf file to it and tried the macros out but has the same problem. After a bit of cursing and grumbling I'm wondering now if I'm looking in the wrong direction for the problem.

Has anyone every had a problem with a custom .ncf file becoming corrupt? Is it possible that some type of corruption has gotten into the configuration file that is making it do weird things? Any other ideas?

Thanks.

One other question. Does someone have a custom .ncf file with codes for a Hughes HIRD-E86 receiver? I checked the files section but didn't see one for this HD receiver. Maybe I just need to reload the codes for this device's remote from someone else that isn't having these problems with macros.

Thanks.
