Hai, I'm a new user with a Marantz RC3200.
My unit has a system version 1.0.8
I see there is a new version 1.1.4.

I also read people having trouble after updating. Question, which issues have been solved with the new firmware. Should I update or is it to tricky?

I updated mine and it never worked again. I took it back for another which I have not updated. My system version is v2.0.1 and I was using a windows ME PC. After the update the only change I saw was the App which went from 1.1.4.02 to 1.1.4. a downdate !! I am also new to this so please excuse me if it looks like I'm talking rubbish. Maybe someone knows if there is any info on what changes you can expect from the updates so you could decide if it's worth the risk/hassle. The Marantz site is very lacking in this respect. Philips is better.

Strange thing is that your (Marky mark) remote has a system version 2.0.1, mine has 1.0.8. Strange, considering I just got my remote a couple of days.
The app version can be updated with the update from Marantz site. I don't know if that also updates the system version.

But as I wrote, I'm a little insecure about performing the update.

I bought mine 2-3 weeks ago here in the UK. Here's all the version info to help clarify we are talking about the same thing:

boot v2.34b
system v2.0.1
App 1.1.4.02
Cf v1.0

As I saw the App version change to 1.1.4 after a firmware update I assume App is what others call the firmware. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd also be interested to know what the other items relate to.

Well, I took my chances and performed the update. And... it all went well.

These are my version nrs.
Boot v2.34b
System v1.0.8
App 1.1.4 (was originally 1.0.7)
Cf v1.0

So, I still curious what the difference in System is.

After performing the update two new things I saw in the setup menu's:
Calibrate
Label
Anyone experience with these options, as they are not described in the manual.

The blind leading the blind here but I'm pleased to see it worked for you. I would like to know why so many have trouble with this.
Is this a clue to the problem --- The firmware update says its sys1.1. Does that really mean its intended for remotes with system 1.1. Clearly we agree that the update actually changes the app version not the remotes sys version. Maybe the reason it was a disaster for me and others is that I have sys 2.0.1 and already had a later App version ???
Can any of you experts shed some light on this, please?
As for the calibrate. I think it's to help set up the touch sensitive screen after an update. Label is for labelling buttons but I find it's far better and easier to do it using the RC edit software.
