Hello everyone! I have searched this forum about my problem, but no success. :(
The thing is that I want my NEO (RU930 here in europe) to light up only when I tapp the display, NOT when I press any hard-buttons (exept the Backlight button ;) ). I've read that you can fix this in NEOhacker in it's informationfile, but I've tried everything! I know that NEOs code are hexadecimal and all but I don't get it to work. Help me please!

Enyone who knows how to fix this problem?? (I have the newest firmware)

Thanks and cheers!

Peter

The solution is rather simple! No NEO-hacker or anything else required!
Just read the manual and you will find that setting the backlight time to "ON" (one step higher than 120sec.) and then you can adjust the LCD display to your preferred time...

harmotten,

The issue is NOT to get the backlight to illuminate - it's to have it light ONLY when touching the screen - not the hard buttons at the bottom. That's what we want. Right now I have backlight to "ON" but it illuminates with any button press - screen or hard buttons.

Yeah! It's like what johnmcelfresh mean. :)
No light when I press any hard-buttons, but light when I tap the display.

I have backlight to "ON" (for about 6 sec).

Bumping this up on the chance anybody knows how to do this. It appears in NeoHacker that there are different settings for the hardbutton backlight and the LCD backlight, but I have no idea how to manipulate them. It would be a tremendous battery-saver if the backlight would remain off when simply adjusting volume.
