I feel like an idiot. I have created macros that work perfectly but I can't figure out how to customize my device overview screen. A message keeps popping up saying I can't save the device overview changes. Please help!

The only way I know to do this is to delete the actual device from the Neo. Neoedit will generate a new device overview after you do this.

Thanks. I have programmed a macro in the macro screen. Is there a way to put that macro on the device screen?

The only way to change or run Macros from the Device Overview screen is by editing the ConfigEdit.xml file..

And every time you make a change, you must change the .xml file again..

I wonder if they (philips) plan on changing that in the next firmware release - where we would be able to edit the actual device overview? Any one heard anything on this? This would make the Neo much more user friendly - don't ya' think?

Any BUG free software would make the Remote more
"User Friendly" I would think now that the Enduseres
have found out that the Device Overview screen can be changed very simply, Id hop they add it! I think this is far the TOP thing on my list! Way above them "Two other hard buttons" to be programed! Like I could just imagine what would happen when the user lost the "Mode"
button! Anyways, I don't see why Philips can't add this
overview screen to use bitmaps, if you look the software is already set up to do it, it's just the "Save" file is set to overwrite it!

Then again, if Philips DOES allow bitmaps in the Overview screen, would this not HURT their sales of other Pronto's? Think about that, they'd have a Killer remote, and thus, sales for the pronto would drop!!

That's my 2 Cents worth on that!

This is really only a software issue, as you can change the "Devices" screen, if you edit the .xml file directly. What the software does now is rebuild the "Devices" screen everytime you save the .ncf file, thus wiping all your changes out.

Now if someone that knows XML file formats can write their own program! That would be gtreat! I know from working on a few different .NCF files that the layout for the "Devices" and the devices overview hardbuttons stay the same in ever .ncf file. So really think that someone that has know how, could write a simple program to edit the XML file to allow us to add bitmaps and macros. Though after adding macros, the program would have to know what the "Action Id's" are, and that would be hard!
