The Pronto Neo comes with a code set database for many brands but the code set is limited. For instance, I would like to create a button to select the dvd player but this is not a choice in the built-in code set for Yamaha tuners.

Yamaha posts both extended and standard IR codes for many of its systems as PDF files.

I have an HTR-5490 that I have been told is equivalent to the RX-V1200. The RX-V1200 is one of the receivers whose code set is listed.

Is there anyway to use the codes listed on these PDF files to create a new code set for a device?

Yes, I could have the pronto NEO learn the function from the Yamaha remote but it would be great if code sets could be posted on a forum like this so people don't have to go through the manual process of learning an IR code.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Well, if the ir code posted is in Pronto Hex, then maybe yes, but I don't have the receiver, so until you are someone tries it, then I can't say for sure.

The Yamaha IR codes are in HEX but without much of an explanation. I may have to rummage through the Yamaha site.

For instance the standard IR code (according to Yamaha) to select the DVD player is 7AC1, to select D-TV/LD is 7A54. The first byte is the custom code and the second byte is the data code.

Is there a place in the Philips or Remotecontrol web site that explains the Pronto NEO HEX code?
