Hi,

I'm trying to get the last remaining buttons learnt on my setup. Unfortunately I can't get the buttons which are the key to the whole thing - selecting DVD, Tuner, VCR input channels on the receiver. I am able to learn Tuner and CD, but I can't learn DVD or VHS.

From the way the system behaves when you press the VHS or DVD button it actually sends out a couple of IR codes - one to the Receiver to change input, one to the TV to turn it on and one to the VHS/DVD unit to turn it on too. Because of this I don't think the ProntoNEO is able to learn all three codes at the same time.

Has anyone successfully been able to learn or at least replicate these functions?

Tom

PS given that the STR-D911 is pretty old, telling my to buy a new receiver is valid :)

Hmm, Are you saying the Sony remote sends out all those codes with one button press? If it is, I really don't think ANYONE will get the
Neo to learn them..

Yeah, if I press the Video1 button on the Sony Receiver remote control - the Receiver turns on (if it's off), changes to Video1 on the input selector, the VCR fires and the TV switches on.

The STR-D911 doesn't seem to be a very common unit - I wonder (as I'm in Australia) whether it has another model designation elsewhere.

So basicly the Sony remote is running a macro itself. The Neo will not learn a macro like that. Are all the devices Sony brand?

I'd go out and look for either a Cinema7 or Radio Shack remote, and try the codes to see if it works with the sony as most all Sony's have LOTS of advanse codes(Discrete)
