Has anyone done any experiments involving an automatic
control for the Neo backlight? Other than the
massive hole in NeoEdit which prevents modification
of the device overview screen(s), the only gripe
I've got is that the backlight doesn't come on
unless the backlight button is pressed.
It shouldn't be difficult to do...the parts ought
to cost less than 50 cents...maybe a buck and
a half if there's more than a couple of lines
to the MCU that need to be watched to determine
if a button or the touchscreen is pressed.

with the latest firmware update you can do it. go to mode - setup. increase LCD timeout to max, increase backlight time to max then backoff the LCD timeout to what you want. The result is the backlight comes on whenever you touch any key and stays on for the duration of the display timeout.
