I recently bought a ProntoNeo and I like it except for the low contrast of the screen. It looked much nicer in Neoedit then it does in real life....
But that's not my question.
I have a DENON 1600 DVD player. Now all the buttons except one i was able to learn into the Neo.
The only button that won't learn is the "Stop" button.
I've tried almost anything but it just won't learn.
Does anyone have a similar denon and got it to work?
Or does anyone have the same denon remote [RC 551] and got the "stop" button to learn?

I am using a Panasonic DVD player, which also operate the Denon. Have the same problem. I even tried to use other remotes as a carrier, and then learn from the carrier, still no luck. Anyone else got any insight?

Have you looked for this DVD player on the Pronto site? I see there is a Denon 1500, not sure if thats the same. What is the Pany model?

If there is a Pronto code, convert the stop code using NeoHAcker..

I've tried the same method triodemark did. My 10 year old universal remote can learn the button. But the Neo wouldn't take that either...
Panasonic use the same remote?? All models or just one? If so then wich model?
It's a pitty that the Neo only has the codes for Maranz and Philips buildin...:(
I've looked on the pronto site. But the 1500 is an older model [different remote]. But i'm not sure how to convert codes with Neohacker. Is there a manual of some kind???

It worked!!!!Thanx to Triodemark who said the Panasonic has the same operation. i looked in the file area for the newest model panasonic. there is a ncf file from Max_power, it's for a RC3200 but with neohacker you can save it as Neo file. I copied the stop button from this file and it works. Now I can start enjoying the remote without missing buttons.
I also tried the Pronto2Neo converter but I guess my dutch excell version doesn't work with it...:(

Thanx for the help.

i had the same problem with the STOP buttom of my PANASONIC VCR NV-HS 830. fortunatly i first get a older test remote from my hifi shop. after i told MARANTZ that i won´t buy this RC 3200 without all buttons are working. They said that i can buy a new one, because they changed a CHIPSET inside (Marantz Hotline Germany 07.Nov.2002).so i buy one today and it works properly. maybe the same thing with PRONTO NEO????
sorry about my english

No doubt, similar problems with the Denon DVD 1600 I managed to get all denon 1600 remote control buttons into the ProntoNeo, except the "menu" button "top menu" wasn't a problem. I am still working on this one but !

It might be handy if NeoRD does an upload of his NCF file to the file area. I will complete this file then with the rest of the missing buttons. This enables the r.o.w. to enjoy the neo for the denon 1600 DVD

To get my Denon to learn all functions I needed to go into a dark room and learn that way it took about 2-10 times per button and about 20 min. to do the whole remote but I have every button learned for the 1600.

Yep,

good for you, I also managed to get all buttons in the pronto neo, including the ones people have problems with. In the meantime I did an upload of the file to the file area and expect that others can benefith from it in a few days. It normally takes 2 days before the files are made public by the webmaster.

Have fun.

Sorry about the late reply. I've uploaded my ncf file also, so anyone that likes it can download it in a few days also.
I learned my buttons the same way Scrap did, it still seems a bit of a bother to do it this way. I copied the STOP button from a panasonic NCF file. I wonder if Philips will ever make things better...:).
I love the remote though.

- Still having fun.

Thanks to NeoRD and Harry G for posting NCF files. Very helpful! Now a question: does anyone know if the Denon DVD-1600 has discrete ON and OFF codes available? The remote only offers a toggle function. Are there any other other Denon codes that will send a discrete ON or OFF to this unit?
