It seems that I need to send a "wake up" call to either the Neo or the component that the Neo is attempting to transmit to, if so I'm not sure which.

For example, to go to our HBO channel here's the general sequence that needs to be completed:
1) Send 5 to cable box
2) Send 5 to cable box
3) Send 1 to cable box
4) Send Enter to cable box

Here's what I initially had to accomplish this in the actions for the icon:
1) Send 5 to cable box
2) Send 5 to cable box
3) Send 1 to cable box
4) Send Enter to cable box
(yes, it's just like the example, but that's what it required)

Sometimes it would send the full sequence and the channel would change, sometimes only a 5 would make it, sometimes 51, and sometimes the Enter command would go and sometimes not. It didn't seem to matter how perfectly the Neo was pointed at the device or not. I did notice that if I had hit Enter or just adjusted the volume or performed some other action that would have caused everything to - I guess you'd call it this - be active, then it worked fine each time. And this happens with any channel/cable combo that I had actions in for, the HBO is just an example.

I've now added a .10 delay in between each command and it seems to work fine. The sequnce from the example now looks like this:
1) Delay .1
2) Send 5 to cable box
3) Delay .1
4) Send 5 to cable box
5) Delay .1
6) Send 1 to cable box
7) Delay .1
8) Send Enter to cable box

So I guess my question is, is this necessary or am I missing something? Does the Neo require a wake-up? I'd think that in tapping the LCD to see what you're going to press that that would be the wake-up for the Neo. My cable box is a General Electric (AT&T digital) using codeset 0837. Although this works it seems like a bit of a kludge.

By the way, thanks to everyone putting out all the info here, it's fantastic! And for NeoHacker and it's author, good stuff, it sure fills in the gaps and makes marginal software (NeoEdit) seem better than it is.

Its funny you having this problem too! I had no problems with any of my MAcro's, untill the last "Firmware" and software update! Now my RCA UTV will do the same thing! Also sometimes have to press a button a couple of times to get a responce!

I haven't tried the Sony DVD changer yet, but this is not good as I have over 250 macros that have no "Delay's" that used to work fine!!

Way to go AGAIN Philips, one step forward, two steps back" must be their motto!!

I am having the same problem. Is there anything that you can do that will "wake-up" the remote so you do not have to press the same button a couple of times?

Delays are now needed for certain equipment. At least the delays are easy to insert with the cursor arrows, unlike ProntoEdit. Good to hear Phillips hasn't lost their touch. butch
