Does anyone know how to go about adding a device to the menu with out using the PC? I just bought a used ProntoNeo and it did not come with the cable to connect to the PC. I am going to borrow one from a friend but in the mean time I would like to play a little with it. When I did the reset, the only device buttons are TV, CABLE and VCR. I need to remove CABLE and add SAT and DVD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The manual for this remote is grossly inadequate.

Thanks!

I don't think you can add or remove device buttons without using NeoEdit. It'd be dead easy to build yourself a cable though if you need to. Get a female DB9 connector, some 3 conductor cable, and a 1/8" stereo miniplug from radio shack and wire it up like this:

Tip: DB9 Pin 2
Ring: DB9 Pin 3
Sleeve: DB9 Pin 5 (GND)

Pins 2 and 3 are RX and TX. Swapping them would make a null cable. There is no hardware flow control on the Pronto NEO.

Oh yeah, try to use a bit larger gauge wire (at least 22AWG) .. 20AWG would be better and keep your cable length as short as you can (definately not much longer than 6ft if you can help it) .. The lack of flow control can kill you during a firmware upgrade if you have a little bit of a noisy cable!
