I'm having a hard time teaching my neo the remote from my Emerson DVD2000. It fails on the power, and basically learns every other button such as:

learns Forward, but not reverse
learns 1, 3, 5, ....
but not 2, 4, 6, .....

I'm thinking about using neohacker to see what the codes are for the sucessful learns and then maybe I can piece together the failed ones.

Anyother thoughts.....

thanks
Rak..

So the following is an example of what I am talking about. The neo learned all the even number buttons
but failed on the odd number buttons.

The first column is the button, the balance is the code of course.

Anyone want to take a guess at what the odd number button codes would be?

I think you mean even :-)
what happens when you tried learning the even? did you get a fail, or a learn that did not work?

Some companies have IR codes with a toggle bit i.e. for every button like 1 there is a 1a and a 1b this way the machine can differentiate between to very quick presses of 1 (11) and a long 1 1). So when the equipment is waiting for a b code and it receives an a code it does not respond.

Can this be your problem?

I get a failure while learning.

I've been messing with this thing for a few days now and am not getting anywhere with this emerson DVD2000. I suspect that the neo is going to have to go back to the store.
