I am just wondering how accurate the screen on the Neo is. I don't have the remote, but plan on getting it, and I have been playing with the NeoEdit software creating test layouts and learning how to use it.

One question I have is about the button sizes. What is a good size, in pixels, for a button to be usable? I have been playing with the ellipse buttons, but I have no idea how big they are on the "real" remote, and how accurate the screen is when you press one.

Can someone with some experience let me know the smallest size a button should be?

Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

When you get your Neo, download the firmware patch from the Philips web site before you do anything. Without the patch, the touch screen is VERY inaccurate. After the firmware update the Neo has a setup screen to calibrate the touch screen. As far as button sizes, I found the default 28 pixel button to be about the smallest to work with my large fingers, even after the firmware update. Using smaller buttons may be possible with smaller fingers, using a stylus (like a palm pilot), or your fingernail.

hey bryan, just got the neo and have been playing with neoedit. the "small" default button size seems fine and is pretty accurate when pressed, though i have missed and hit the wrong button a couple of times
