I was wonding if anyone else is having this problem.

If I quickly tap the buttons, the transmit icon displays briefly but the code is not transmitted successfully. If I hold the button down slightly longer it works fine. I have learned the same function into my Sony VL900 and it seems fine, even if I tap the button as quickly as I can. I have the same result no matter if I learn from the orig remote or the VL900.

I also tried taking a Pronto .ccf file and getting the IR code. But NeoHacker won't convert it from Pronto to Neo because it has 2 burst pair sequences.

Is this something no one has noticed yet, or am I the only experiencing this?

Also, I have only noticed this on the Dish Network codes because that is the device I use the most. I have tried a few other devices and they seem Ok, but I have not gone through all functions on all devices.

Any help is appreciated.

which dish network reciever do you have? I have used the echostar/jvc code from the philips codes, and then learned all of my pvr codes. I did lose a bunch during a download, but just learned from the IR/RF remote. I am not where my dish reciever is, but it is the top of the line with optical out, and built in "TIVO" digital video recorder.

I am controlling a 4900 and a pvr 501 (both in the same cabinet) and find the same, that a longer then normal hold in needed, but to tell you the truth, I have payed attention to the oem pvr remote and it seems to need a little bit more hold time than other components although not as bad as through the neo, another diference is that the origional remotes are sending uhf, I would also be interested if there is a better way.

I have both older models 3900 and 2800. Same thing happens with both. One other piece of info I just noticed. If I 'tap' the button, nothing happens the first time. But I can 'tap' it again and it works, and it doesn't seem to matter how long I wait between 'taps'.

I think I've got something!!! Using NeoHacker I set the duration of the code to 0;5. This seems to send the entire signal. My guess is this is a repeating code but it takes two iterations for it to trigger.

Ok, I'm an Idiot...

But I'm man enough to post it here so nobody else has to spend three nights messing with this to figure this out.

The answer i'm ashamed to admit is...

Use the BUILT IN CODE!!!!! Echostar 0802

Most of the system codes for my other equipment didn't work so I never even messed with the DBS codes, just learned them from the beginning.

Oh well... I'm just happen it works like a charm now :-)

The built in codes don't work with the PVR501 unless there are more now with some of the NEO updates.

I'm using the built in code (from echostar 0802) with PVR501. They all work fine. Those that are not built in or available, I use the learned code, but then use neohacker to change the duration to 0;5 (only for the learned codes. Everything works perfectly !
