I have loaded v1.3 of the NeoEdit software. I also have a Dell Precision laptop. When I run the NeoEdit software there are no Com ports that show up. Has anyone a solution?

Did you check device manager to insure that both com ports have been instatted and configured?

Check to make sure any program that polls the Com port has been disabled. These would include any syncing programs for PDA's.

I installed 1.2 on my IBM thinkpad A20p (W2K), com port was found, I was able to download config to ProntoNeo.
I uninstalled, installed 1.3, have been unable to find a com port no matter what I've done. I checked - coms are installed and appear to be recognized by W2k and other devices/software. I even enabled the com port in Bios, but no luck. I've re-installed edit software, deleted all registry items for Neo, etc..., still no luck. Any advice?

regedit
Save this out as NeoEditCom2.reg and double-click on it. This is set up for Com2... try a setting of 1 for Com1

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Philips Electronics N.V.\NEOedit\1, 3, 4, 0\Settings]
"Connection"=dword:00000002

My system has COM1 and COM4 (as opposed to COM2) NeoEdit 1.2 (from the CD) and 1.3 (downloaded) showed no COM ports. Evidentally, it doesn't even look for COM3 or COM4. But when I disabled my application using COM1, that port then showed up in the box and I was able to select and use it. This was a bummer as my COM1 is for my UPS monitor most of the time and COM4 for everything else.

Strangely enough, I was able to run the firmware upgrade on COM4 no problem.
