anyone have trouble upgrading after foolishly installing v1.2? After a long night, I got 1.3 installed, only to have it come up with C:windows/desktop/neoedit.lnk is missing or unaccessible. Anyone, please help! Philips DOES NOT support their software, as the tech rep told me today. They can get into trouble for even trying. This forum is our only hope!! ps - running Win98se

mph - give us more details on the problem. When does the error come up, when the install is over? Any errors during the install routine?

after install, and closing out the window, try to launch 1.3 via the shortcut, or under programs/neoedit, windows replies with "neoedit.lnk is unaccessible or missing." If you select "launch program" from the last screen of the install, and click "finish" the program runs fine. If you try to uninstall neoedit using the windows "add/remove programs" or the neoedit uninstall, windows replies with "another version of this program exists" and dumps out of the uninstall routine. The only way I got v1.2 off was with Norton System works.

i had problems getting rid of 1.2, also.

in both Win98 and a Win2k PC's the uninstall program would dump me out, too.

I found that if I tried to 'run' it again (and mine would not work on the Win98 pc, too) I could then run the uninstall program.

I still can't get 1.3 to work on one Win2k pc (errors: claiming the registry wasn't modified properly at install, please reinstall- which i've done twice) but it IS working on my laptop (win2k)- nice since it's near the gear. But 1 out of 3 PCs is no good (1 out of 4 if you consider the failed install on my Win2000 server box)

i could not get it to install at all on my /other/ older Win98 pc, says: "a newer version of Windows installer is required"
