I've seen a few posts about getting the Dish 811 UHF remote to train the Neo and thought I'd call Dish Network to find out if they have a solution.

I spoke to two people and both of them told me there is absolutely NO WAY that receiver can be controlled by any other remote. Of course, I didn't believe them!

I referred to a bulletin which someone else posted here - [Link: satelliteone.com]

I found an IR remote that was listed in the table and it certainly did control my 811. Furthermore, I was able to train my ProntoNeo WITHOUT any problems. And now it works GREAT!

I almost feel like calling the boneheads at Dish to let them know to do a little research before telling customers something is impossible.

So, in the end, if you can find one of the remotes listed in the bulletin, you should have no problems!
