Anyone else had a problem downloading v1.3 of the NeoEdit. I have a dial up to AOL and Compuserve and have had no luck on either. The 20.1MB file downloads about 10MB in an hour and quits. Have tried at various times but no luck. In addition, does 1.3 address the problem of links to hard buttons dropping. Unacceptable and frustrating.

mph,
I have not had problems downloading v1.3, however, I am not on AOL so I can't speak to that problem. I just purchased the ProntoNeo and had already downloaded and installed the v1.3 of NeoEdit. I had a bit of a rough "learning curve" at first but I'm getting the hang of it now. I have also found many useful tips by reading the posts in this forum, however, I, too, am having problems with the "hard buttons" links not downloading properly, and, occasionally, disappearing after a time. I have just started "learning" the codes for the hardbuttons for each page I want to use them on. This is tedious, but it's the only way I have found around the problem. If someone else can give some helpful hints about this problem, I'm sure we would both be grateful. I do like the remote, though, and I'm sure I'll figure out some of the bugs as I go along.
Good luck

ty2083,

appreciate the post. I have since downloaded the v1.3 but am still having zero luck on getting it to run from windows. I can only launch from the install program. My later post touches on this problem. I am with you on the steep learning curve. I have the remote pretty much how I want it, and am enjoying putting 5 other remotes away!

Here's the technique I've worked out for conserving those learned buttons. First is that I have a copy of the .ncf I call "workingcopy" and then I have a copy of that .ncf so I have at least one fall back. Then I have a .ncf called "savedbuttons" in which I cut devices or pages from "workingcopy" and paste them into "savedbuttons". That way I have multiple copies of the base .ncf and I have multiple copies of learned codes that I can always cut and paste back into my "workingcopy" .ncf. Works for me.
