I have been trying to use Neohacker to convert Neo files to RC3200 files so that I can use them in RC3200edit but it is not working. When I try to open the file in RC3200edit, it gives me a " can not open file in this editor" message. I went through all the steps of saving the file as a RC3200 file but it will not work. But, if the file originated as a 3200 file, I can open it and close it at will. So the next thing I did was download NeoEdit and it is the opposite. It will not open RC3200 files that were converted with NeoHacker to Neo files.

Anyone with any suggestions on why this is not working?

Thanks,
Narvarr

Do you have a TSU 500 or a RU 930?
If you have a RU 930,maybe you have to change the ZIP comment to the TSU 500 ZIP comment. Please donīt ask me how to do this exactly. Itīs too long ago.
It was like:
Open with Winzip
Change comment from 0001 to 0002 or from 0002 to 0001
Save it

I have Marantz RC3200. NeoHacker is suppose to be able to convert Neo NCF's to RC3200 NCF's but it is not working. I can't get the 3200 edit program to open Neo files after saving it with NeoHacker as an RC3200.ncf file.

This can't be a generic problem, as I have had RC3200s for nearly four years now and I've never had a problem using NeoHacker to convert Neo NCFs to RC3200 NCFs.

Have you tried installing NeoHacker on a different machine and doing the conversions there?

Also, NeoHacker is a Java app, so the Java version might have something to do with this problem. You might want to see if you can find and install an older version of Java and open NeoHacker under it. I have no idea if this will help, but it's something to consider.

If push comes to shove, then you might want to consider finding out what exactly the Zip comment is and changing it manually using Winzip or another Zip utility.

Good luck.

Thanks tkrug. I sent the files today. My biggest problem is that I have a JVC Rec. that some of my learned codes aren't working. My video1 and video2 inputs weren't working even though the 3200 said OK that it grabbed the code. I used NeoHack to open the file and check the codes but it showed all "0"s as the code for those two functions. I downloaded the Neo NCF's with JVC rec.s frome the files area to get the code but hacker is not letting me copy & paste codes or convert files from Neo to RC3200. I did get some of the codes I needed from the Pronto files area by using CCF dumper but I still need a code for my video2 input. Hopefully, there is one in the Neo files that I sent you that will work.

Thanks again!

Narvarr,
I think the problem might have been that you were trying to open the ZIP files with neohacker. That will give you an error message. You need to unzip them and extract the NCF files within, then open and convert them in NeoHacker. I converted the 3 NCF's you sent me and emailed them back to you just in case. Hope they help out. Let us know.
