As you may know, NCF files are nothing more than a renamed ZIP (compressed) file. So, why re-compress NCF files with Zip?
1) It provides a quick CRC error check when decompressing, ensuring the file was downloaded properly.
2) Compressed NCF files are not optimized -- a further 10-37% space savings can be obtained by zipping them. For instance, over the five NCF files I've been sent, an average of 23% further compression was possible.
