I hope this is the correct forum to post this. My problem, I have an Emotiva DMC-1 Pre amp with the MX500 remote. I also have the Infocus 777 projector. I set both up this week end. It appears that they share some codes. When I went into the menu to set the size of speakers and distance to seating the focus, zoom, and brightness on the projector changed. Very distressing to have to resize and reset everything on the projector. I know it is rare for different manufacturers to have cross talk with codes but it is happening. Any one with ideas how to get around this?

First you need to sit there under your projector and press everybutton on the Emotiva and not EXACTLY wich command had WHAT effect on the Projector. Sometimes you can bend the codes enough that they do not interfere with eachother.

Most comon thing would be to put the Preamp on RF control and block its IR completely. Then control the projector IR only. Or vice versa.

But if you find which codes overlap maybe somone will have a fix. Like a common one was the Samsung #4 Digital on Directv boxes equals POWER Off for Harmon Kardon Receivers. Bend the #4 code and it still works but didn't trip the Harmon any more.
