I programmed a new MX-950 using codes from the UR database for a Pioneer Elite Pro 1130HD. Interestingly, while having operation without any problems for a week, now only some of those codes work. If I reprogram the codes that don't work with learned codes (flashing the codes via the Pioneer's remote into the MX-950), it works. Can anyone explain this?

It was a FULLY CHARGED rechargeable battery (which came with the unit - when not in use, the remote sits in the charging cradle). I bought the remote (and by definition it's battery) a week ago at Best Buy/Magnolia.

Since you bought it locally, I'd consider getting it replaced under warranty.

I've never had that issue with the 950 in the 7 or 8 months since I've been using them.

Do you know what version of software it was programed with?

There were a few issues with couple of the first versions but I don't recall that being one of them.

Yeah I agree....get it replaced. I've been programming URC remotes for over 2 years and the 950 since it was brought to market and haven't seen this.

I would try redoing the programming in MXEditor and downloading to the remote again. If the problem persists, you may have a defective remote.

Since it so new the best bet, whether it's defective or not, may be to just swap it out at Magnolia for a new one. If you don't want to do that I would download one of the default set-ups to the remote, make sure you do a live update and then re-download your programming to the unit. This creates a virtual reset that may wipe out any software bugs that might cause the problem

I think I'll try that - resetting by downloading a default set-up - before trying to exchange it. I already did one exchange because the first 950 barely kept contact in the base for charging (had to wriggle it ... just .... so ... and walk softly as not to jar the contacts apart). The new one is perfect in that regard, and it really sounds like a software/mxa issue anyways.

I will, Daniel - so far the learned codes seem to be sticking...

Well, so far after several days, it seems that the learned codes for the 1130 Pioneer Elite Plasma are the ones that work, and only one or two from the IR database seem to really work. The good news is that the ones that were learned seem to stick; I was worried about a frequency drift defect, but I don't think that's the case. Perhaps Universal should re-evaluate the codes in it's IR database for the Pro 1130HD.
