My MX-700 has worked flawlessly since November. But today it had a problem in middle of download and now every time I try to download I get error code 102-17UU-0000(invalid port or defective cable). I know the port, Com1, is correct and the cable looks fine). Also, yes the cable is inserted firmly into the 700. Software is ver 1.09.143.

Any ideas on what I might have overlooked? I'll try contacting HTM tech support on Monday if I can't solve. In the meantime, need to find those old remotes........... :-(

I'm sure you tried this, but I would close mx-editor, take the batteries out of the 700 for about 1 minute, then put the batteries back in. Reopen mx-editor and try downloading again. I would try a partial first and if successful, do a full.

Secondly, be sure the cable is plugged in all the way at the remote. (I learned this the hard way.) It seems that even though it seems to hit bottom, a little extra push makes it click and make the proper connection.

Another tip: close all the other programs you have running (especially the internet). That was the problem I encountered when I first got my MX-700

I ran into the download problem on my MX-800, tried new cables, different computers, removing batteries, etc. with no luck.

Then I tried something simple - I put NEW batteries in the remote - MAGIC!

I should have noticed that the remote was totally dead. When I replaced the original batteries I just got a blank screen. I didn't see the various "test" displays.

Yaretiree, there's no need to bump 9 threads that are all years old to repeat the same comment. One time would suffice.

Sorry, I just made sure that all the threads that had the same error message I ran into got the solution I found. This was in case people people's search string was based upon some other criteria than what I used.

I'd just be glad that I took the time to share what I found. Oh well, that's what I get for being helpful.
