I have an Onkyo TX-SV727 and recently my dog ate the remote control. I have been searching for a replacement for a couple of weeks. Does anybody know if this remote actually has the preprogrammed codes for the TX-SV727? I can't use the learning features since the old remote doesn't actually work any more. I am mostly interest in the ability to control the multi-source features of the remote so that I can listen to music in my bedroom again.

Thanks for any help.

Chris,

We don't recommend you use Pre-programmed codes, as you likely won't ever be content or happy with them in the long run.

Do what we all do in your shoes - go to Circuit City and use the display's remote to learn to your MX-500. Growl at the 16 year old salesperson as he tries to sell you the receiver.

Hi,
I am new to this so I am sorry if my questions are amateur. I also have a TX SV727 without a remote. As we are now almost in 2008 I cannot go to Circuit City and use the display's remote to learn my mx-500. In fact, i dont even know what a MX-500 is or how knowing it will help me.
Basically, like Chris, I just want to use the multi-source feature. So, what should I do? Chris, what did you do? Please dont tell me to get a new amp. I love my Onk and will growl at you for such as suggestion.

Thanks.

Respect,
Martin
