Hi Guys,
I have an MX-700 remote. It's about 4 years old. I know I can't download software anymore, but I can still program it myself. It's the 9-pin connector that is the issue. My new laptop does not have the correct port, and the old PC I used is dead. I was able to move the software with all my macros. So no issues there. But I cannot PHYSICALLY connect the MX-700 to my laptop!
Any solutions? I don't know that a USB adaptor would work, as there are no USB drivers for the remote? Any help would be appreciated- links to adaptors, software, posts would be great!
Thanks,
Fred

You need a USB-Serial adapter cable. Belkin and Keyspan are the reccomended ones. I know Keyspan definitely works. People have reported that Radio Shack ones work too.

Belkin and Radio Shack work well, I personally have never used the keyspan.
Make sure you are on Port 1....
