Hi,

i am a beginner with this stuff. I have scientific atlanta 8300HD box that I thought was a DVR but I set it up on my mx500 as cable.

I made a custom field in the page 2 cable called list to show recorded programs.

My problems are:
Set up macro that when I hit cable, the 8300HD box and tv go on, then mx500 shows page 2 of cable setup.

But when I hit the power button to turn it off only the cable box turns off not the tv.

Also if this setup it controls the cable good but any tv controls I have to change device back to tv. Is this normal?

Any help appreciated.

ps...i am afraid to set up a home audio theater.

I'm sure you have solved your problem by now, but I have recently bpought the MX 500. After reading about your problem I have reading the manuel because I was having a problem. I went to Page 30 in the manuel "ogram the Macro Buttons ". Instead of using the Audio device as they did, I went to TV to DVR to Cable, using the same instructions but leaving out the audio and programed it to M1. The above devices turn on and off using the M1 Button, and all functions operate.
