In the next few days I will be releasing the first
beta of ORDesktop, a desktop companion for the
OmniRemote universal remote control and I am looking
for users that would like to be part of the beta
program.
What is OmniRemote?
-------------------
OmniRemote is software for Palm handheld devices that
turns your Palm PDA into a learning universal IR
remote. To find out more about OmniRemote, visit the
Pacific Neo-Tek site,
http://www.pacificneotek.com.
What is ORDesktop?
------------------
ORDesktop is an MS Windows application which allows
you to create and edit the categories and buttons for
OmniRemote.
Features of ORDesktop include:
- Database of hundreds of preprogrammed devices so
that you don't have to create and train every button
yourself.
- Ability to open multiple OmniRemote files and to cut
and paste buttons and whole categories between them.
This allows for sharing of categories between users.
- Multiple categories are visible on screen at the
same time. Depending on window size, it is possible
to see all of the categories simultaneously.
- Ability to drag or cut and paste buttons between
categories.
- Visual display of different button types including
macro, repeating, untrained and category buttons.
- Visual display and editing of macros.
- Buttons can be moved and resized using either the
mouse or the keyboard.
- Variable grid sizes which can be set by the user.
Buttons can be positioned and sized down to a single
pixel grid rather than the coarse grid of the
OmniRemote editing interface.
- Infinite undo and redo of changes.
