Hi,
Being enthusiastic about the option of using an MMC card, I downloaded the 1.8.2 version and inserted a new formated 512 Mo MMC card in the iPronto slot, switched to the remote control part, then accessed to the MMC tab and..............the answer is...................No MMC card detected. please insert an MMC card and use the refresh button. I did use the refresh button and it still dos not recognise the card. Any suggestion from the forum or from the Pronto Team?
Thank you Al.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but it's sort of related ...
New update isn't working for me either. The slot on my iPronto says "SD / MMC" which suggests SD cards should also work in the slot now it has been activated. But, guess what, SD cards aren't working either.
Is the update ONLY for MMC cards? If so, WHY? And why is the slot marked "SD / MMC" ?
Thanks Nigel

Yes the update is said to work exclusively with MMC card as said in the addendum mentionned in the thread from pronto team. But nevermind even with a brand new, tested and formated in a card reader it doesn't work. Thanks to all for a possible solution.

Haven't tried it myself yet, but it definitely says that it only works with MMC cards, not SD ones! If your 512 Mb card is MMC, and still doesn't work, perhaps there is a size limit on cards that it recognises? I know that happens sometimes, but would be surprised if an item as new as iPronto has a limit. I once had a digital camera that wouldn't recognise cards greater than 256 Mb.

Put the card in the ipronto and then format it under the mmc screen on the ipronto.

No way, as I indicated in the first thread the iPronto does not detect the MMC card at all.

Hi,
Is there anyone able to help to make this long awaited MMC download workable. As of now the new software answers only: unable to detect an MMC card, despite the card is correctly inserted an a real MMC card, not an SD.
Thanks

Hi,
I am new here, but the MMC feature works fine for me. Which brand, type of MMC do you use? Did you try using the MMC with windows? Did you properly inserted the MMC in the right direction, it seems the card can be inserted in a number of wrong ways.
Thx

Hi,
The MMC brand I use is Transcend, It works perfectly fine on Windows(I formated it). You cannot insert it the wrong way, the only possible way being contacts oriented down and in theopposite side of the screen. Thank you for your help, but it still doesn't work. Any other suggestion?

I am using a Scandisk 256MB MMC. It is mentioned in the FAQ that you need to format the MMC card using the FAT filesystem only. Other filesystems will work with windows but not work on the iPronto. If you have access to a different brand of MMC card, you could try that. It may be that the Transcend card is not compatible. Did you try rebooting the iPronto already?

I searched google on Transcend MMC, turns out that alot of those cards that are sold are Transcend MMC-RS 512 MB. Note the RS which stands for reduced size. If your card is not a genuine MMC but MMC-RS that also might be causing this behaviour.
