I am using a Harmony 550 to control a Marantz SR-8002 receiver. I've had a few Harmony remotes and am very comfortable with setting them up.
The SR-8002 has discrete 'power on' command. In device mode I have verified that this command works properly. Also in device mode, in the 'adjust power settings' section, I've told the Harmony software to use that command as the power on command.
My problem is that in my activities the SR-8002 is not being switched on. The help function isn't able to switch it on either. For some reason the wrong power on command is being sent. I've listed the SR-8002 as the first device to be powered on, so I don't think it is a case of it getting overwhelmed with commands intended for another device. With it listed first, it being powered on should be the very first command sent.
Any ideas? I've never had this occur before. For every other device I've set up it is as simple as finding a discrete on that works, telling the software about that command and then activities use that command.

It's possible you have 2 commands with similar names/labels and you simply picked the wrong one for the power setup. Worst case - delete and re-add the receiver and redo the power setup and/or try renaming the power on command to avoid confusion. If none of that works try redownloading the firmware or check with support.

It definately isn't me getting the command labels mixed up. I even tried learning a custom command for power on (called it MyPowerOn) and told the Harmony software to use that as the power on command. No luck though; my activities still don't use this command.

Call support and tell them the correct command to use for power in the receiver and let them check it on their end. Could be a database problem.
