Good luck with that 1000. I use mine as a paper weight because it does a better job. 880's and 890's work well, the 1000 is a POS.

Sorry, have had to replace everyone we did so we stopped. Tech support was useless.

Hi and welcome.
You've got two different problems here, haven't you?!
For the first we need to know how the two devices are connected to the TV.
For the second which of the four methods of selecting inputs are you using?
Just that little more detail and we'll soon dispose of those "buts" and have you totally happy.

You should also check the power configuration of your devices (Device > Settings > Adjust Power Settings). Some devices support the discrete PowerOn and PowerOff commands, others only the PowerToggle command. Check their behaviour in device mode, then Adjust the Power Settings accordingly. Make sure you select the correct method (for toggle: select one button for both; for discrete: select a different button for each) and don't mix them up.

um ya even though the 1000 is a POS, it's prolly power setting problems or, maybe a major bug with the 1000, or maybe a problem with the commands themselves. ... it's getting harder and harder to tell. A 659 costs around $30 and it does the same as a 1000...ooops maybe even more....
Peace

"Sorry, have had to replace everyone we did so we stopped. Tech support was useless."

Did you talk to tier 2 support or the basic support people? Never talk to tier 1 support- they don't know the 1000 and are basically there for customers, not integrators. The 1000 does more than they say it will and it generally does things well. If you have problems with it, use the troubleshooting feature.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
