Hi All,

I'd like to have the volume of my TV turned down when I switch activities (weird, I know). Is there a way to have it switch all the inputs etc then have 4 seconds or so of "volume down"? If it's possible I have no idea where to start.

I need this because when I want to use my sound system the TV volume is still active (hdmi) and the volume controls with the specific activity are for my processor.

Thanks,
Joe

Not weird, a perfectly normal function on Harmonys.
Use the Mute command, or the series of commands to take you to the TV's menu option to turn off the internal speakers, or - if you really can't use those - the series of Volume commands.
Either way include the command or series of commands as Additional When Activity Starts.
You will probably want to add the command or the reverse series When Activity Ends.

Yes, by adding command(s) in the Activity Start/Exit feature which becomes available when you select "Yes, but I want to add more control of options and devices for this Activity" in the Review settings for this Activity. Keep pressing next/save until you get to that feature. Since using a pile of volume down commands is not very elegant nor efficient, you need to find a short sequence of command(s) to disable the TV speaker. Some TVs can achieve that with a single command like "SpeakerToggle" even though that command may not be available on the original remote. Thus you should try all the commands in device mode first.

Have you considered using only the A/V receiver for sound all the time?

Yes, my TV's speakers are permanently off, and that's the ideal solution.
