Please help, i get the message "Main.asp-seamonkey does not know what to do with this file" when I use 7.2 software to update my remote. It asks me if i want to save or what program i want to use to open the file main.asp. If i save it, the remote does not update my changes, if i pick a program to open it with the software shuts down. I have also tried to update my remote using the web application, it goes thru the motions but does not update the changes. I have the 880, and successfully updated the remote in the summer, but now am trying to add xbox 360 to the device list.

I uninstalled the Harmony 7.2 software, rebooted, reinstalled, "Updated Remote" and got same error box. Level 1 tech support said "SeaMonkey" was a "Browser", and for some reason the Harmony software was not defaulting to IE. I did a search and SeaMonkey seems to be associated with Firefox, so I uninstalled Firefox, rebooted and tried again, same problem. I am waiting for a level 2 tech to call me back.

Any help from this group would be much appreciated.

I cant even use the "web-based" update, it says it updates, but nothing changes on the remote.(I added a device and changed an activity, however, no changes on the remote)

I think Seamonkey is a stand alone product that needs to be uninstalled.

Did you check the start menu for an uninstall option? Some programs don't register with windoze. Check your explorer options for the .asp file extension and see which program it's trying to use - that might be a clue where it's located and how to get rid of it.

I'd start researching here: [Link: wiki.mozilla.org].

By the way, Firefox prompts the same way. In the options box, I select open with and in the drop down box it defaults to "Harmony.hol" or "Harmony.exe". Sorry, but I can't remember which extension. I do recall that once I installed firefox it originally thought the appropriate open with file was outlook.exe... I uninstalled and reinstalled Harmony software and issue was fixed.

Thank you for your response. (I am still waiting for the call back from "Level 2" support). I also selected "Harmony.exe", however, when I clicked "ok" or "accept" or whatever, the whole update program crashed and disappeared.

The SeaMonkey home page does not seem to have much to offer, I would like to know how "SeaMonkey" is still inserting itself into things I am trying to do even after I uninstalled "FireFox".

I don't use SeaMonkey, but I do use Firefox. If I'm reading correctly, Firefox is but one component of the SeaMonkey suite, so you'd have to find and uninstall all SeaMonkey components. It also sounds like SeaMonkey is the default file association on something. Try checking windows file associations under control panel, folders, file types. That should let you know what associations launch SeaMonkey. You can then change the association to some other program.

Thanks for your reply. Before I change the association, is it the opinion of most here that the .asp file extension is a "Harmony Remote" file extension?

On my machine .asp does not have any file association. "Open with" is blank. Check out this site:

[Link: w3schools.com]

Perhaps try clearing the browser cache before entering the Harmony website. If the site is loading from the cache it could be referencing invalid items. Also, when you try to change an item "open with" does SeaMonkey or a program in that suite appear in the drop down list of available programs? That could help you isolate which program to remove.

No, nothing in that program suite appears in the drop down list. I am using the "Harmony Remote 7.2" program, not the website, should I still try to clear the cache? Whenever I select "HarmonyRemote.exe" to "Open With", the program closes.
