Looks great, Daniel! The additional buttons are most welcome. That was the only real problem I've had with the current model and my HT setup. Mike www.surfremotecontrol.com

I agree with Mike, it definitely looks interesting. No wonder these guys have been so busy.
Does anyone know how the work on the Pronto is coming along? Just curious.
Keep up the good work Intrigue

Look for it in November for about $299.

Any trade up programs being offered.
I've a unit I'm nearly ready to send back as the channel up/down and back buttons are sticking (not quite enough for a warranty claim - just barely enough to be annoying) but I can't bear to be without this now that I've had it a few months.
That said, if the opportunity to upgrade is there, I may do that route rather than warranty claim?

Your new model is very sexy. It has the buttons I've been wanting. Thanks for listening to our input!
I will be looking for your upgrade program. I'm in.
Hope your manufacturing factility can handle the load :)
Thanks

Ok, the new Harmony Remote upgrade program is in place. Basically it takes the form of a factory rebate. If you order a new SST-768 today, it will be delivered in November. Once you receive the new remote, just send us the old one and we'll credit your Credit Card $100US. (or appropriate Canadian equivalent) You can check out the features of the new remote by clicking on the Buy button on our website ( www.HarmonyRemote.com) then click on the "Read More Link". Currently this is the only way to get to the product description until our Home page gets updated this week....but I thought you might want to see it now :) Best Regards, Geoff Lyon VP Sales and Marketing Intrigue Technologies Inc.

Will the current configurations work with the new remote, or will we need to start all over?

I think adding more buttons was a great step forward, kudos to the folks at Harmony! However, why couldn't they have given us a keypad joystick a la MX-500? Although I could just (barely) make out some directional arrows in the moulding for the new remote (centered around the number 8 button), it doesn't look very "intuitive" to me that the 5, 7, 8, 9, and 0 buttons are supposed to be used for directional control. It seems like one of the goals of this remote (and the entire logic/concept of the smartstate technology) is to make it easy for anyone to pick it up and use it right away. This makes for a good "babysitter" or "mother-in-law" remote that doesn't require a 40-hour training session on the proper operation. To me, a keypad/joystick is immediately intuitive, while the current method (5, 7, 8, 9, and 0 keys) is not. I have previsouly proposed that perfection would be obtained by combining the smartstate technology of the harmony with the hard-buttons of the MX-500...looks like the folks at harmony disagreed.
Sorry for the less than beaming feedback.

I notice there's also embossed menu arrows in a cluster of buttons at the top.

I see them now too (the additional directional embossings), although I missed them the other times I looked...kind of underscores the point made in my previous posting.
I wish they had let me know that they were planning a release of this remote with more hard-buttons. I might have kept my beta-test model and upgraded to the new one. Seems like they were saying (not too long ago) that the hardware would not change. Since the lack of hard-buttons was a major fault in my opinion (particularly when using the remote to operate PVR/Tivo type receivers), I decided to sell mine. Oh well, the new one is too much $$$ for me now.
By the way, despite the critical nature of my previous posting, I do think this remote deserves praise for innovation (smartstate tech), and the folks at Harmony generally do seem to listen to and reply to customers' concerns/problems.

Hey Guys, I am thinking about pre-ordering one of these new harmony remotes that avsmarts.com is selling. I looked at Harmony's site and avsmarts page; but my question is, does anyone know if I get the same warranty for the remote from avsmarts.com? Thanks for any feedback. I love this website you guys are very helpful.
