I guess you should tell us the make/model. I have Philips' DSR6000Rs, and the code request pops up when you try to tune in a restricted channel. Couldn't be easier. I guess you need to keep the original remote handy. Larry www.fineelectricco.comThis message was edited by Larry Fine on 04/26/02 22:10.51.

You can assign a suite of commands to one key. Since I encounter very limited success with manual XML editing, I think the easiest way is to create a "Change Button Function" activity as follow:
go to "My Activities" -> Add a new activity -> Utility -> Change Button Function -> choose in what menu that key will be active -> choose what hard key to remap -> select what device the command will be taken from -> Choose the activity where the new button function will be active -> then select a device command this latter step can be repeated to create a suite of commands.
In my case, I use one key to do all the navigation necessary to get to the Weather Forecast page on Teletext, where the following commands are needed: SendInfrared TV Bedroom_TxOn_Press SendInfrared TV Bedroom_1_Press SendInfrared TV Bedroom_6_Press SendInfrared TV Bedroom_1_Press in short, this makes the TV switch to "Teletext" mode on TV, then go to page 161.
Important: when finished, go back to My Activities -> Rename an Activity, then give a consistant name to the new "Change Button function" activity that you just created. If you don't, this activity will be overwritten with the next "Change button function" you'll make.
Hope this helps
