Hi,
I understood if you really want to go into the details of this remote you've got to deal with XML codes.
My question: Do you need to be online with this or is there a simple editor/loader which transfers XML files from/to your PC via the USB port ?

Thanks, Emilia

XML is just text, so you can copy it from the webpage, and edit it offline in Notepad. Reconnect to the internet and paste it back in.

However, you do need to be connected to the internet for the website to compile your configuration and download it to the remote.

And you could go on-line, load XML page, then disconnect, edit and reconnect to save the changes.
(i.e. skip the copy to notepad)

done what?

edit XML?

Edit XML on-line?

I edited my channel listings (moved the channels around). It was faster then going through the wizzards.

Ok, thanks, so I need to be online just to proceed a *local* transfer from the PC via USB to the remote !?
Sounds like a rather strange concept to me...
In particular considering the fact that XML support and manuals are not available or rather limited.
This would imply some "try and error" testing of your code and everytime I have to connect.... ;-(

Thanks, Emilia

every device/activity has some XML that you can hand edit. When you press update, the web server creates the actual configuration (goes to get TV listing....) then you download the configuration into the remote.

Yes, I too edited the channel listings, which is easy.
But has anyone here remapped buttons at the device level?
If you do it at the activity level, you lose the mapping as soon as a menu changes [unless you tediously do all the Change Button stuff for _every_ menu].

If your software savy, you can create an interface through visio2000 to creat XML code. This is an advancement that Hamony should consider. Currently they are just using a database (spreadsheet) to store information and they have a code generator (simple logic) that uses that database. With this technique you just drag and drop devices. Right click on the icons to configure them and then connect them together with logic. Hit a button and you have the xml.
