It weren't always like this . . . [Link: aboutderbyshire.co.uk]I were a young whipper-snapper at the time, but I remember the winter of 62/63. Had a couple of days off school, unlike today of course, where a couple of flakes signals a month shut down.

There is a national radio host that is based in Southern California. He will say on a semi regular basis that SoCals can deal with wild fires, earthquakes, race riots, and horrible smog, but as soon as one rain drop lands on a windshield....fifty car pile up on the highway. People freak out over a little change in the weather everywhere these days.
