Hello all, I was sitting down tonight watching the Grinch on my new Denon 3300. Then appx at chapter 11 2 mins in I start to see the picture dropping out and pixels. The sound dropped then came back. I am pretty sure its the dvd. I went back and it did kinda the same thig again at the same point.
Dumb question, but is it for sure the dvd and not my dvd player?
Any and all help and I will grant you 3 wishes.......

Try to check for scratches on the DVD itself. It sounds like bit errors, which can happen, but are usually corrected by the error-correcting codes embedded on the disc. Scratches can create bit errors beyond repair.

Or, it could be a smudge - especially if this is a rental that may have been handled by peanut butter and jelly encrusted fingers. Follow standard cleaning procedures (soft damp cloth, wipe out radially from the center, NOT around the disk in circles).
