I am look for a solution to replace 35mm film. DVD is the obvious option. The problems that I haven't solved yet are:

I need to be able to bypass all the title menu's and directly play the movie remotely. RS-232 control of the DVD Player is obviously the way to go. But the protocol needs to be able to give me this function.

I also need to be able to automaticly receive a pulse or feedback as to where in the movie we are at. So as to be able to try to predict the start of the credit roll so as the lights can be automatically raised etc.

These issues need to be solved for the Automation equipment (AMX etc.).

Please help?
