Assuming I'm not the only one who has been waiting for this... (The score and cinematography ought to be great on DVD) Warner has apparantly announced that it will ship in June: [Link: dvdfile.com]

You have to see this... Don't even wait for the DVD. Rent the VHS now and you'll see why so many people are anxiously awaiting its release on disc. In 1986 it won best film at Cannes, Cinematography at the Oscars (stunning scenes), and best Score at the Globes along with best Screenplay (I think!). If warner remixes it to 5.1 the score by Ennio Morricone is going to knock your socks off. The film stars Robert DeNiro (as you've never seen him!) and Jeremy Irons as Missionaries in 17th Century Spain and Portugal teaching the mountain Indians the ways of the Church, regardless of what the Indians want or need! Many themes to ponder, but a beautiful movie to see and hear!
