Is it ok to leave the DVD in the DVD Player for a period of time when your not using the player ?

Sure. It spins down after a while. Even if you leave it on one of those "repeating menu" screens there shouldn't be too much trouble, though you will find the disc heats up.

Daniel is right, as always :). I have paused a DVD for overnight, if I don't watch the whole thing in one sitting. I havn't seen any problems with it.
